Manatee


The manatee is a large mammal also known as a sea cow or dugong. It is an herbivore, and closely related to elephants. The three types of manatee live in rivers and coasts in Florida, the West Indies, and Africa. The manatee is a slow and gentle animal. It can weigh in at over 1,000 pounds.
The cause of death or injury of many manatees is boat propellers.
